Many of my workshops involve lots of cutting, sticking and drawing. I try to make sessions fun and accessible to everyone and promote the importance of making mistakes! The photos below give a good idea of the process.

Family Workshop at Prema Arts Centre 2015
I prepared this family workshop at Prema Arts by creating a range of coloured papers with inks and rollers, to give a fixed palette and texture. After demonstrating some simple ways to cut out and define detail with crayon everyone launched into their own wonderful little pop-up worlds.

Bob and Flo workshop at Prema Arts Centre 2013
To celebrate the publication of ‘Bob and Flo – the missing bucket’, the lovely team at Prema let me loose on their toddlers. We read the story then got busy. The final piece was a miniature penguin nursery, with little stand up penguins.
The Big Draw at Prema Arts Centre 2013
For this Big Draw, I joined up with the Prema Arts and several artists for a circus themed drawing extravaganza. The idea originated from the installation already in place, by thread artist Debbie Smyth. We encouraged the participants to interact with the show, using pencils, pens, collage, gaffer tape and electrical tape.
