I had the pleasure of running this family workshop at Prema Arts Centre. I prepped the session by creating a range of colours using acrylic inks rolled onto stiff white paper. This produced a fixed colour palette and gave a nice base texture. I showed some simple ways to cut out and define detail with crayon, raise the elements off the page, and give a relief dimension. From there… everyone launched into their own wonderful little worlds. It worked really well and managed to capture the imaginations of even the small children.
